After meeting online in 2008, Bev and Jeff were married three years later at the park across the street from their historic home in Coronado. The new blended family joined the Jakus and Burroughs families which now include 4 adult kids and three amazing significant others. This group has provided us with 6 grand kids ranging from middle school to a recent college graduate. We are proud of our blended family!

Bev, after graduating from SMU, enjoyed a successful career in the banking, mortgage and real estate businesses - retiring (for the most part) in 2010. Most of her career was in Arizona running her Mortgage company Canyon Financial, before selling the business and moving to Coronado in 2003. Once in Coronado, her Real Estate passion involved the purchase, renovation, leasing and ultimate sales of many area homes for herself and others. Together, Bev and Jeff have been involved in 27 personal escrows during their first 17 years together in Coronado, Scottsdale, Heber City and Kaua’i.

Jeff is an alumnus of San Diego State University and entered the technology arena in 1972. A few highlights of Jeff’s more than 10 business enterprises include launching the largest computer store - 5,000 square feet - in San Diego (1978) that ultimately expanded to 3 stores including Hawaii; founding technology companies Primary Data (1983), ProSoft (1993) and Better Results (2000); and most recently Figjam Estate Winery (2023). Along the way there were others: Jakus Hawaii & JAMIS Business Systems (1974), Blue Koi Travel (1991 still operating today), Uber Vino (2002) and Third Bottle Wine (2012). Prosoft and Better Results were both sold prior to Jeff retiring in 2010.

Together, Bev and Jeff enjoy running Figjam Estate Winery and enjoying meeting industry peers both here in the US and abroad in places like Portugal, Madeira, Spain, Italy and Greece. Making new friends and spending time with old friends and family is a top priority.

Giving back is also a priority and we do as much as we can in and around our Coronado Community with recent sponsorships of: the KMAC Foundation, the Coronado Maritime Foundation, the Cancer Cartel, the Coronado Island Film Festival, Emerald Keepers, Make-A-Wish San Diego, Operation Game On, Sonoma VFW, Honor Health Foundation, and more . . .
