He spent the rest of his days in San Diego until having a serious accident in 2002 which landed him in the hospital and then assisted living in Los Angeles.
He was married to a girl he met at work in San Diego - Cheryl - and divorced after a short time. While in Los Angeles he met a new girl that he helped take care of until her death a few years before Steve passed.
Steve was a great person with a love for family and animals.
Steve swam in the Special Olympics for quite a few years, winning many Blue Ribbons and a few Gold Medals!
